Looking for ways to have more energy? I’ve been there! My day is filled with chasing around a busy toddler, running a business, working out, and trying to keep up with my social life. I don’t have TIME for fatigue, but that used to rule my life. By being intentional about what I am putting into my body, I have been able to see such an incredible difference in my health, mood, and energy. Here are some foods that will help boost your energy.
Energy-Boosting Foods
- Oats
- Fresh fruit
- Greek yogurt
- Nuts (almonds and pistachios) and Nut butters (our fav is from Clean Simple Eats)
- Dark leafy greens
- Chickpeas / hummus
- Salmon
- Sweet potatoes
- Brown rice
- Lentils
- Eggs

Now, let’s take a look at energy- depleting foods. They may not be what you’d expect!
Energy-Depleting Foods
- Alcohol
- Cheese
- Canned foods (if there is BPA in the cans)
- Processed meats
- Popcorn
- Diet soda (due to aspartame reducing serotonin levels)
- Coffee
I know what you’re thinking… Caffeine is going to deplete my energy? But it feels like it gives me a boost! Well, when you’re in tune with your body, you’ll notice that there is always a crash after the initial boost. Excessive consumption can also increase anxiety, and that isn’t helping your energy either.
Now, does this mean that you can’t EVER eat these foods? Of course not! It’s all about balance and listening to your body. The first step is awareness of what you are choosing to consume. Once you know how food affects your body, you’re able to make better decisions about what is right for you in your stage of life.
And of course, if you’re wanting to save even more energy, get some Prepp’d Meals to save on cooking and cleaning time. You’ll never know how you lived without it!
